Community Energy in the Arctic

uu
Understanding energy security for Arctic communities is the first step towards addressing it. Under the CASES partnership, this Energy Gateway is meant to highlight the energy context of 16 representative communities from the Arctic region. The gateway covers communities from Alaska, Northern Canada (Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, Manitoba), and Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden). Energy security in these communities has material facets: access, affordability, reliability, and the subjective experiences of community members. This gateway takes a deep dive into all these aspects for each community. Apart from that, we also describe the policy and regulatory environment for each region, and highlight the current energy initiatives in each community
